Sungei Buloh Wetland Reserve is the ASEAN Heritage Park and known as a stop-over point for migratory bird species that are listed in the East Asian Australasian Shorebird Site Network. Although being protected and conserved frequently, there is an important problem named stuck rubbish. In detail, Styrofoam boxes, aluminium cans and plastic bottles from the strait of Johor beach were washed ashore and trapped at the mangrove roots in Sungei Buloh. As a result, this area can face water pollution. After doing research and being concerned about the current issue in Sungei Buloh, Multidisciplinary Project D-3 group is carrying out a project about Roles of Social Media in Promoting Environmental- friendly Practices in Sungei Buloh with three objectives consisting of increasing environmental awareness through social media campaign on the current problem in Sungei Buloh, fund raising and volunteer problem.
